Stock Check Feb. 24th, 2008 @ 03:05 pm
Post-Valentines Day Sale 25th-29th Feb Fresh, dried and pressed flowers available.

It wasn't her fault that she'd completely overestimated the rush for various things on what she'd been warned would be the busiest time of year for her. Actually, that wasn't strictly true, she'd done fine with the stereotypical things such as roses and orchids and such because they'd pretty much all gone by the time she closed on the 14th. It was all the rest of the more interesting and, in her opinion, more meaningful flowers that had been left behind like the globe amaranths and the heliotropes.

She'd spent most of her free time over the weekend drying and pressing a good portion of them - they'd make interesting gifts at least - but even so she'd prefer to do her best to sell the bulk of the remaining stock. If only so she'd have room to move in the back again.

"Spot the bargain while you can, people," she muttered to herself as she arranged another load of dried melilot into a part of the shop that was quickly becoming overwhelmed with fragrances, "this won't be happening again next year."

Dahlia's Day Off Jan. 17th, 2008 @ 08:10 pm
It's Wednesday morning and for the first time since she opened the Herbary she won't be working there today. Instead she's got other things planned and is actually quite looking forward to a day away from dealing with customers and the like.

There's a note for the two men she's leaving in charge. )

Now all she has to do is wait for people to arrive so she can get going...

Apologies Dec. 15th, 2007 @ 02:08 am
It's Christmas and therefore, in a complete fit of selfishness, my player has decided to go off and visit people for the next two weeks. Inevitably, these people don't have that rather handy communications network I've heard called the Interweb, or something similar, so neither myself or Miss Alexander is going to be able to reply to our conversations in that time. Speaking of whom, I believe she wishes to say something.

Yes, thanks. I just want to wish all of you a happy Christmas, or whichever holiday you're celebrating if any, and we'll see you all before the New Years if all goes well. Our player's got this thing into her head that if she avoids the Internet in the holiday she'll get more work done. It's unlikely but I can't blame her for trying, even if it does mean me and Dahlia are off the grid in the mean time. Now, I've hogged the journal long enough, back to it's owner now.

Thank you. Well, I concur with Miss Alexander's sentiments and wish you all well until I see you again.
*looks up*
And my player wants me to tell you that she says 'ditto'. Is that it? Alright. Go pack you silly girl, you've got to be up in a few hours.

Important Documentation Nov. 13th, 2007 @ 02:18 pm
It doesn't take her long to work up a rota for her new employees, in fact it takes longer for her to write it out neatly than it does for her to divvy up the days.

She looks at the other bits and pieces alternatively pinned, taped and charmed to the door and smiles before picking the push pin and attaching the work rota.

She really hopes it works out; it would be nice to have a proper day off once in a while.

Trying not to kill the customers Oct. 26th, 2007 @ 10:04 pm
Jeremy's warning sign

Dahlia sighs as she finishes the last touches to the sign and props it up on the counter. It's ridiculous that she's having to make one, it's not as if Jeremy even looks friendly, but she's had to pull enough people away at the last moment this past week to make it necessary.

She now turns to the plant which is sitting rather innocently on its shelf currently. "Well, at least Lucius seems to have calmed you down." It may have been the beer though, she's not entirely sure.

Dahlia stands in the car park at the back of The Herbary, hands on hips, as she admires the newest addition to her loan. At least she can get around to the further edges of the town without knackering herself on her bicycle and it'll certainly help with the larger orders.

After a few moments she claps her hands together and turns around, heading back to the shop.

"Well, no rest for the wicked."

The rather odd girl who acts as my and one Miss Lyta Alexander's go-between for here and what she insists on calling the Real World tells me she's off gallivanting to the Netherlands for the next week or so on the pretense of furthering her studies.
*pauses for a second and listens to something in the background*
Fine, for a field trip. Although I've yet to see an actual field on any of these trips so far. Yes, fine, except for that one.

As such, I shan't be replying much to any of your comments until next weekend at the earliest. My apologies for the delay but I think it's one of these necessary evils we all have to put up with in our time.

The shop seems to be rather empty at the moment so feel free to ask me things, I've not much else better to do at the moment.

Just don't touch the displays, some of them touch back.
